Marvelous masks!

Well, I have seen many masks out and about this week but I haven't seen any quite like these works of art!


Eve and her brother William made these awesome masks with their Nana. They painted old palm husks that had fallen from a palm tree.
William's is on the left and Eve's is on the right.


These are so creative! Well done Eve and William!

Lockdown fun in Olivia A's house

 Olivia has been doing tricky puzzles! Check out her 2 photos with the Olaf puzzle, if you look from different angles he has moved! Lucky Olivia has a great eye for puzzles.




She also baked a carrot cake and wrote out the instructions.



Olivia has also been doing dance lessons via zoom which is also great for some P.E!

It is not nice weather out there but it is a good time to get your school bag ready, make sure you have your uniform clean and ready for Monday too.

Lucy's home learning today

Lucy had a look on Mrs Harding's Te Reo blog today and practised singing along with the mahunga pakihiwi waiata. Check out this awesome picture she drew labeling all the body parts in te reo!


Lucy also had a look on Mrs Dowden's Music blog. Lucy chose to do the challenge of writing some music notes. Wow, look at that! Even a treble clef!


Lucy has been working hard on the Science slide over the past week by keeping a tally of all the recycling that is used in her house.
Can you see which type of recycling has been used the most?


That is a lot of plastic isn't it? Who can remember what number you skip count when using a tally mark?

Hunter has been practicing his poem for the Poetry Festival

Fiona and Luca's learning

Luca has been busy in the school bubble today.
He has drawn a pictures of his dog Stella and cat Leo.


Luca has been busy doing puzzles too.


He counted 72 pieces in the mermaid puzzle. Great counting Luca!


Luca has spelt his name and his brother and sister's name using bubble sticks.

Mavis' Lockdown activities

 Mavis has had a wonderful week at home. She did lots of exercises, cooking, projects and learning. 


Mavis and her family said Thank you for the Distance Learning Slide Deck. They had fun following the recommended learning tasks.

Distance Learning from Lucy, Noah, Indigo, Kayla, Aelene and Fiona

Lucy had a go at retelling the story of the Wishgranter. Lucy found this a bit challenging but she perservered and has done a fantasic job!


Noah has been doing some reading and story telling at home.


When the weather was brighter Noah and his family headed to the beach to look for crabs. That looks like a fun outing Noah!



 He told his mum some facts about monkeys and then he wrote them down.


Indigo has been learning about volcanoes and paper mache! Check out this awesome volcano she made with her Dad! 


Kayla has sepent some time outside on her scooter when the sun is out!


Kayla has been practising some spelling but writing words that start with 'f'.



Kayla has been doing lots of maths at home too with some really BIG numbers!! WOW! 



Aelene has been picking some grapefruit with her Grandpa today.
Yummy! How do you eat your grapefruit Aelene?


Fiona has been using the reading website Starfall at home.


Fiona also did an amazing drawing of Room 9 using so much detail. It's so nice to see your smiling face Fiona!

Welcome to Monday 24th August

Welcome to Week 6!



Miss Moa was due to start her 5-week practicum in R9a this week, fingers crossed we get back to school next week so we can still see her. 

Our 11am Monday and Friday Google Meet Video Calls start today. Miss Robertson, Mrs Harding, Miss King and I can't wait to see you. Hopefully, we get to see Whaea Tiana and Mr Smith too!

Fred's adventures during Lockdown

 Fred has been busy at home with Reading, Writing and spelling practice. 

Fred's Dad, Tom enjoys Maths so he has made some worksheets for Fred to do every day. 


We have been enjoying the link to online Reading too. 


One day for morning tea we also made an easy bubble slice using Sunny Honey, Yum!


Home learning with Issy, Lucy and Eve

Issy has been working on the Social Sciences slide and watched the story about Silly Billy. Here she is talking about the worry dolls she drew.

Issy has been working on the arts slides too. Here Issy is singing and signing to the sign language song Paradise.


Here Issy is singing and dancing along to the Boom Chicka Boom song!


Issy has been working on the Growth slide too. She has made a lovely card for her Grandad.


Lucy managaed to get outside for a ride on her scooter yesterday before the rain and then she made sushi at home! YUM! Check out her recipe below...


Eve has watched the Wishgranter story and made a storyboard to retell the story. Awesome work Eve!
