Writing

On Tuesday we did Writing for the very first time. 

We worked with Mrs Burge and used the butterfly cards to find words and letters to make a simple sentence. 

We found the words 'I can' on the butterfly card then sounded out the next word 'fs' for flowers etc.  

We are looking forward to the next time we write. 

Phonics

We worked on the letter s in phonics.

Visitors to Room 9a

Gabby and Hazel came to visit over the last two Thursdays. 

We can't wait to have you both in Room 9a very soon!

Fun Friday

Jordan and Cheryl delivered the ice block orders to the office.

Ali, Lucas and William made some amazing robots from the construction toys!

Harry and Olivia F had fun playing with the dinosaurs.

Dean made Mrs Burge lots of food to eat!

We had ice blocks too! Yummy!

We had such an awesome time in the pool!

We practiced some races ready for our Koru Swimming Carnival!

Fridays are the best days!

The Fantastic Bike Track

Mrs Burge had one of her daughter's bikes at school and she showed us which way to go on the bike track!

We had a lovely time riding around the 'easy' track, getting used to the corners and how to give way to each other. 

We can't wait to get back on the bike track on Friday!

Ice Cream Name Activity

Miss Moa worked with us to make some awesome artwork using ice cream cones with scoops of ice cream that spell out our names. 

We practiced our letters before we wrote each letter on an ice cream scoop.

Koru Whanau Assembly Celebrations

Look who received a certificate in assembly today...

Jordan and Cheryl were so very proud of themselves!

Room 9a also won the assembly award!

Koru Whanau Assembly

Room 9a performed an item in the Koru Whanau Assembly today.

We were very brave when we stood at the front of the hall, showed our art and sang the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme. 

Fun Friday

We have had a fantastic day today. 

We did work on whiteboards.

 We have been reading the big book called Greedy Cat, written by Joy Cowley.

We filled Greedy Cat's tummy full of food he would like to eat.

Greedy Cat likes to eat sausages!

Greedy Cat likes to eat bananas!

Greedy Cat does not like to eat pepper!!

We enjoyed playing with the cars.

The puzzles kept us busy too!

Welcome to Room 9a - Day 1 February 3rd 2020!

We had lots of fun in Room 9a today. 

First of all we sang some songs. We really enjoyed Tufa Tafa! That is a class favourite.

We walked around the school to find the important things like the toilets, the field and the boat playground.

We got to know all of the Year 1 and 2 teachers during our Koru Whanau assembly in the Koru courtyard. 

We did the letter s in phonics and made some awesome sun art.

 We have Mrs Burge and Miss Robertson as our teachers.

Miss Moa is a 3rd Year student teacher who will be with us for 3 weeks, then 2 more weeks in June, then 5 weeks in September!

We are so lucky to have so many wonderful teachers. Mr Smith worked with us today too!
