Welcome to Vincy and Sanuli!

This week we welcomed Vincy and Sanuli into Room 9.

They have had a great start to school, joining in reading, maths and art! Way to go girls!

Twinkle! Twinkle Little Room 9 Stars!

On Thursday we had our pre-school visitors join us for the morning.

We made sparkly stars and performed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to everyone in Room 9a.

Hannah's Home Learning

Hannah has been a little sick, so she has been staying at home.

Hunter on the hunt for Pupeko's

As we have been learning all about Pukeko this week.  

Mum & I went on a Pukeko hunt along the Rotary walkway. 

We saw loads of them and I wanted to share them with you.

Welcome to Room 9 Aelene

Welcome to Room 9 Aelene.

You have settled in already and made friends. What a super start to school. 

Busy Bees in Room 9a

This week we went down to our 

Sunnyhills Bee house to look at the hives and the busy bees in action. Then we learnt about how the bees make the honey. Did you know they literally vomit up the nectar from bee to bee until it is sticky and syrupy. Eeeeeew gross!

Mr Smith was even kind enough to dress up in his bee keeper suit for us to look at. 

He looked like he was about to head into space! 

The honey from our school hives has recently been harvested and made into our very own 'Sunny Honey'. 

Aren't we all clever....bees included!

Mrs Daniel is super proud of the honey our bees produce. 

We even did some awesome writing about the bees.

Autumn Days Artwork

We have been looking at Autumn leaves.

We printed Autumn leaves using beautiful Autumn colours. 

.

We also used Autumn colours to finger paint Autumn leaves onto our arm trees.

Shapes are all around us

We started by creating repeating patterns.

Then, we created pictures using 2D shapes and sticking them onto paper to create our picture. 

Then we got REALLY clever and drew around shapes top create our pictures, and we coloured in. 

We are getting very clever at naming and describing 2D shapes. 

Welcome to Noah!

This week we welcomed Noah to Room 9!

Noah has already made lots of friends in Room 9 and 9a and is joining in with all our favourite songs and learning.

Ka pai Noah! It is great to have you in our class.

We are so happy to have all of you lovely girls in Room 9.

We have been using playdough to help our letter formation and writing on whiteboards to practise our alphabet.

We have started our Little Learners Love Literacy programme this week. We have been learning how to write and make the sound of the letters m, s, and f.
